Boston's first game of the season was played in very wet and muddy conditions. This made handling the ball difficult, but the team went out in a positive mood with Matthew Fitzer captain for the day. Boston started in a good way with dominance in the forwards and slowly moved forward keeping the ball in the Kesteven half for the first 20 minutes, eventually the ball came down the line to Matt who went over for a try, his first. In the last 10 minutes of the first half Boston allowed Kesteven into the game or maybe just the tremendous effort already put in was slowing down the forwards. The half ended with Kesteven in the lead by 7 points. The second half was much the same with good runs by Aaron Appleby, Matthew Poole and Johnny Neal, but slowly Kesteven extended their lead. At times Boston were dominant in the forwards who produced their second try which was converted by Johnny. There were lots of good points in everyone's game in difficult conditions and plenty to work on. The boys finished on a high and for everyone it was a good game to watch and play in. West End Cinema man of the match was Matt Fitzer
