Run of defeats goes on

TEAM endeavour galore and one crunching tackle from Jack Bell were not enough to halt Boston U10s’ run of defeats when Spalding and Cleethorpes visited the Boardsides on Sunday morning.
Boston faced Cleethorpes in the first encounter of the day and the visitors took the lead from the first play, crossing the line in the corner after running straight through the home defence.
A myriad of missed tackles later Boston found themselves staring down the barrel of yet another heavy defeat, only a solitary try from scrum half Danny Wilson giving them any cheer as they slumped to an 11-1 loss.
Refreshed after a game’s break, Boston faced an extremely talented and well-drilled Spalding side - and although the end result was a repeat of that in the first game, the performance was much improved, Bell and Fraser Allen carrying well and Jake Saint showing his usual tenacity in the mauls.
George Stevens went over for Boston, Saint providing useful assistance, but the boys must start listening to their coaches and thinking more about their game if they are to start getting the results their effort deserves.
